Priscilla (GA)'s story is not an easy one to tell, but it deserves to be heard - because she is still here, still hopeful, and still offering her gentle heart to anyone willing to see her for who she truly is. At 9 years old (as of January 2026), this beautiful Pit Bull Terrier has already lived through more than any dog should. She came to rescue as the subject of a cruelty case, painfully thin and carrying a large tumor on her lower jaw. And yet, despite everything she endured, Priscilla arrived with a softness that stops you in your tracks. She greets people with quiet warmth, leans in for affection, and looks at you with eyes that say she hasn't given up on humans - not even a little. Priscilla is sweet, steady, and wonderfully social, happy to share space with both people and other dogs. She moves through the world with a calm grace, as if she knows that kindness is something to be offered freely, even when life hasn't always returned the favor. She is currently being evaluated by our veterinary partner so we can determine the best path forward for her tumor and overall health. What we do know is that Priscilla deserves comfort, safety, and a family who will cherish her for the resilient, loving soul she is. If you have room in your home - and your heart - for a dog who embodies courage and tenderness in equal measure, Priscilla is waiting. Apply online to adopt at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org.
