Herman had a difficult start in life and will need a patient, understanding adopter who will give him the time he needs to build trust. Because of his past, he can be reactive when there are a lot of dogs or people around, but he responds well to guidance and will benefit from continued training with an experienced handler. Once Herman feels safe, his sweet and affectionate personality truly shines. He forms strong bonds with his people and loves being part of the family. Herman would do best as the only dog in a quiet, adult-only home where he can feel secure and continue building confidence.
