Wally is a ten‑pound swirl of Chihuahua, Dachshund, Spaniel, and pure enthusiasm. He greets new people with a cautious sniff, a tiny "I'm watching you" bark, and then immediately decides you're his new best friend and must witness his impressive toy collection. His favorite is a plush avocado that he proudly sprints down the hall and brings back like he's training for the Produce Olympics. On the couch, Wally transforms into a pretzel. He will twist, flop, stretch, and fold himself into whatever shape is required to maximize snuggle contact. Then, just as suddenly, he'll decide he needs "me time" and relocate to the opposite end of the couch like a dramatic Victorian poet. Wally loves other dogs, loves to play, and absolutely insists on having a canine buddy in his forever home. He's moderately active, moderately mischievous, and extremely committed to his side hobby of hunting rabbit droppings on walks. He's convinced they're gourmet snacks, and his foster is convinced he's wrong. He's still learning leash manners and requires a specific harness, mostly because he likes to zig‑zag like a tiny parade float. He barks at people and dogs on walks to prove he's a tough guy, but the moment he gets close, he just wants to play. Classic Wally. He's crate trained (with some initial protest singing), potty trained, knows several commands, and sleeps sweetly at the end of the bed like a polite little gentleman. His left ear droops, earning him the nickname Lefty, and he loves cuddling up with his foster's border collie like they're starring in a buddy‑cop movie. Wally is goofy, affectionate, toy‑obsessed, and endlessly entertaining. If you're looking for a small dog with a big personality and an even bigger heart, Wally is ready to pretzel himself into your life. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter's expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***
