Note from Dakota's Foster Mom:Dakota is doing great. He is a very sweet boy. The first few days here he slept quite a bit. Dakota likes a soft bed and will arrange pillows or comforters in a fluffy pile until he is satisfied!! He loves naps and cuddling and is quite the snorer!!He is mostly house trained and will go when you take him out. He has had a couple pee accidents when he woke up and we didn't go out right away, so not his fault. He has done great blending in with our little pack. He is good with both the small dogs and the larger one. On initial meeting, he can appear a little tense and stiff, but relaxes once he realizes the other dog is friendly. He does not seem to be a resource guarder with either people or other dogs. He walks nicely on leash but will pull if he sees a squirrel! He gets excited and wants to chase my cats so we are keeping them separate. He loves to go for car rides and hops right in and sits quietly. Dakota will go in the crate but prefers to be with you most of the time. He will bark in the crate if he knows you're in the house but can't see you. His hind end and legs are not that strong and he takes a little bit of struggling to get up on couch or bed. He does not appear to be in pain though. All in all he is a wonderful loving boy.
