Selie is a 9‑pound Chihuahua with a gentle heart, a playful streak, and the sweetest little soul once she feels safe. She's cautious at first, taking her time to warm up, but when she decides you're her person, she becomes a total snuggler who loves curling up in your lap and soaking in affection. She also has an adorable, goofy side - Selie plays catch with herself! She'll toss a toy into the air or across the room, then chase it down with so much enthusiasm it's impossible not to laugh. She enjoys all kinds of toys and hasn't picked a favorite yet because she loves them all. Selie is food‑motivated, smart, and eager to please. She knows several commands, including sit, stay, kennel, outside, go potty, and leave it. She's potty trained (both pads and outside), crate trained, and does well in her kennel. She's moderately active, enjoys exploring the yard, and would love a fenced space where she can safely roam and play. She gets along well with other dogs and has done great with every pup she's met. She's agile, clever, and sweet - a fun little companion who balances playfulness with cuddles perfectly. Because she can be cautious and startles easily, she'll do best in a home with older, considerate kids or adults who understand her gentle nature. Selie is a quirky, loving, joyful little girl who will make her forever family smile every single day. She's the perfect mix of snuggly lap dog and playful entertainer, ready to bring sweetness and fun into her new home. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter's expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe.
