Chris is a sweet, timid little guy who is still learning that the world isn't such a scary place-and that people can be kind, gentle, and loving. He came from a hoarding situation where that wasn't the case, so he will need time, patience, and understanding as he continues to heal and build trust at his own pace. With a calm, loving environment, Chris has so much potential to blossom. Chris is extremely dog-friendly and gains confidence from being around other dogs. In fact, he tends to warm up to dogs before humans and leans on them for comfort and reassurance. He has learned a great deal by watching the small dogs in his foster home, so having a friendly, small dog companion who can help guide him is a must for his success. Chris is potty pad trained and does well using them. While he will go outside on a very consistent schedule, he currently prefers the potty pad. He enjoys going for walks and does well wearing a harness and leash. At night, he sleeps soundly in his own little bed in his foster parents' room. Because Chris is still nervous around people and sensitive to loud noises and quick movements, a quiet, adult-only home would be the best fit for him. He needs a family who will respect his boundaries, allow trust to build slowly, and celebrate the small victories along the way.
