SPARTACUS NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Spartacus Best Guess for Breed: Shepherd/beagle mix Best Guess for Age: 6 months as of March 2026 SEX: Male Approximate Weight: 23 pounds as of January and again on March 1; he hasn't grown much in that time. Gets Along With: Other dogs!We haven't seen him with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living at: DC area foster home Special adoption considerations: Spartacus is a shy older puppy. He needs to go to a home with a welcoming resident dog who will show him the ropes. Spartacus is Looking For: This sweetie is at the tail end of puppyhood - and because he didn't get the awesomest start to life before landing in the shelter, he is shy right now. He wants nothing more than to trot through life with all the confidence of a well-loved dog! To get there, he needs extra patient and loving adopters who will help show him the world at his pace - and a welcoming resident dog who will show him how to dog. He really is a sweetie who wants nothing more than to love and be loved, to know where he belongs. In exchange he offers so many adoring gazes (that furrowed brow!) and loyal companionship for all his days. What do you say? Is he the one you see by your side? Are you his new and forever chapter? What My Foster Says About Me: He may have the name of a gladiator, but Spartacus is truly a gentle soul. This sweet boy can be a little shy when meeting new people and appreciates a bit of time to feel comfortable, but once he does, he forms the sweetest, most loyal bond. Spartacus absolutely loves other dogs and would thrive in a home with a canine companion (or two!) to help him feel confident and playful. His bouncy puppy personality really shines on walks, while at home he's calm, quiet, and incredibly sweet. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
